The tree holds the silence
It keeps the myth
That one day it shall fade
As to be broken
As easily as the sapling
Of the new day,
And as the dawn approaches
It can always be said
That no story shall be broken
As long as the child’s mind is not dead.

The author's comments:
chose the option of the Teen Ink poetry contest for my extra credit opportunity. I have always liked mythology, fantasy, and fairy tales, and the poem I have written is the reflection of that interest of mine.
