Sledding
Close your eyes and look up.
Cold little snowflakes tickle your tongue.
Your eyelashes turn white, and the tips
of your hair fill with snow. Preparing
yourself for the fall, you hold your breath.
Hands go numb, and all feeling in your body
becomes cold. Eyes water from the wind blowing
in your face. Slowing to a stop, you hope off
the sled and make your way back up the hill.
