no joyful season
The snow falls
slowly
softly
down from the sky
as I walk by.
Snow on my jacket
snow in my hair
the season is here
I can feel it in the air
but I stand in disbelief
these are not joyful times
so why should I
be filled with cheer?
the cold
slowly cuts into my skin
freezes me cold
freezes my heart
freezes my soul.
The pain is strong
I don’t even move.
And the thought runs through
that my life is over
but I’m not that lucky
soon enough I’m saved
by warmth
and the real pain
begins
