Ode to Sorrow

Crying,
Hoping,
The tears will fill,
The sudden
Gaping hole inside me.

My hands are reaching,
Clawing air,
Wishing,
Praying,
I’ll see you again.

Powerful,
The bond of lovers,
Like sunshine,
Essential,
But sparing,
And letting in the dark,
Of this gaping hole,
And the night
Lit only by fleeting hope
And the moon.

There’s a light
at the end of the tunnel,
Guarded by demons.

Sickness
Anger
Lost in the sound of the music,
And reality spins
And twists
And falls
