I am the bus that stops at your corner every morning
While your new car drives by
overlooked
until that car breaks down
I am a light bulb
in a room flooded by sun light
unneeded
until that sun sets
I am the dog that sits at the door at two am
waiting for you to stumble in with some new girl
shooed away
until she's gone in the morning
I am the loyal one
and you can do better
