The numbers feel
Look to those around you
Look at the faces near you
Think of your own thoughts
Your own memories
Your own pain
Multiply it by millions
And millions again
People of the Earth
Feel like you do
We all feel
Pain, joy, hope,
We all worry about what’s to come
We are not just statistics
We are not bars on a graph
Or ink on a page
Each one of those numbers
Is alive
Alive to feel
The numbers feel the pain
Of the saddened heart
Of the grieving soul
Of those forgotten
Or of those without love
And yet, while we all feel pain
We all hope
We all dream
We all live life
So are any of us really numbers?
