High as a Kite

By , Rochester, MA
High as a kite
She stumbled around and swore and yelled
She was flying as high as the sky
And she didn’t seem to be coming down any time soon
I sat in my room and blasted my music
And tried to block out her voice
But it just didn’t work

Red and raw
As she threw a fit and began to cry
Out of her right mind
Crazed, cracked, and chaotic
Because she was flying as high as the sky
And I could only wonder what she had
Taken to begin with
