If Our Love Should Sever
If our love should sever, please don't drown in your own tears. Don't send yourself to heaven wrapped in thoughts of yesterday, fighting the river of sorrow. Don't try to mend what is broken, but find a new hope, a new day, a new light. Because that is all I ask of you, my love. Because that is what I know you to be. If our love should sever, be strong for her, my dear. Don't look back and reminisce on the time we spent together. Ice cream cones and good morning kisses will mean no more, my cherished, for red rosebuds and a mended heart will near.
