Change is an ocean
Sometimes we wade in by choice
To chase a dream or follow a lover
But when dipping our toes in the water
We can be pulled out far past the buoy
A few become mermaids
Navigating the riptide with ease
To eventually be cast on an island
Cruise ships glide over
Carrying the ones who try
To stay above the ocean
But money and comforts
Cannot keep them afloat
Change makes no exceptions
There are sharks in the water
Waiting to attack
But don’t worry
You can recover with Love
Patrol boats of the sea
Lifting all those it can salvage
Those who jump off
It cannot help
Until swells of Change overtake them
Again
