Souls that Guide You

In a world full of hate and anguish,
There only a handful that help you through those rough times.
They sit and listen,
Laugh and play,
And cry when they need to for you.

Who are they?
They are the souls that guide you,
Through your childhood year,
And stay until the day you die.

Greeting cards come,
Presents are given,
And merry laughter follows wherever you go,
Keeping you in good spirits when you feel the need to frown.

Problems come,
Tensions rise,
And they are the ones who give you advice,
Who give you comfort,
Who give you strength.

Who are they?
They are the souls that go to the ends of the Earth to find what you need,
And stand up for you when you feel outnumbered by the “cool” crowd.

They are among the few whom you share your deepest secrets with,
The ones you trust,
And the ones you love,
For they are your friends.

What at beautiful way of expressing your love for friendship! I love this poem, and I understand it too! I moved once but I finally found friends who are true friends for me! Great job once again!

Sometimes its hard to see which friends are true and which arent but the truth comes out eventually and those people will hurt you or fall away and unfortunatly i know this all too well... :/

but i zlove this poem and i definatly can apply it to a couple of people///

I know all to well what you mean...ive had some hurtful experiences myself. you gave me an idea to write the opposite of friendship, and so Shadows is dedicated to you. I hope you find it interesting and relavant to your own life. i used my emotions/feelings and combined it with a bit of what you posted. hope you like it :)
