Tool of Death From Afar

Snipers are trained to kill their target
no matter what.
They should not lose their focus
if they want to succeed.
Mindless concentration
is the key to the goal.
Years of preparation culminates
in the first pull of the trigger in war.
A sniper is not close enough
to feel the enemy’s soul leave earth.
He remains far away from the reality of death.
Soon, all he knows is how to kill.
All he knows is domination.
Slowly losing humanity
until all that is left
is the gun.
