When Katrina Met His Room
The water line
was tattooed
on the wall
three feet above his head.
all the walls had large cracks
from ceiling to floor
all he could smell was mold,
everywhere
he turned.
Glass, dust, and curtains
were all across the floor.
He went to the closet.
The poor helpless
door was hanging
by one henge.
It was awful.
Anything and everything
was destroyed.
He looked at the floor
for a long time
the two pictures he still had
of his two dead dogs layed there
with awful water stains.
He just stood there
Just wondering what to do
where to start
or who to call.
