I am Mt. Cithaeron
The hills of my eyes have seen it all.
Intense devastation has come, the herdsman left baby Oedipus to lie on me,
and to be put to death. Thank you to the gods that the old wise man saved him from departure from the earth. I hope he receives my adulation. Years later, the hills of my eyes are rushing out tearing. Thebes is not compatible. I cannot even protect anyone now. Sorry herdsman. It is so much destruction among the land, which one cannot bear. Culpable reflects the herdsman because “fate mocks him with the threat of his own”. The hills of my eyes have seen it all.
