I have a friend who killed someone in a car accident.
He wishes he never went 80 miles per hour.
He regrets it everyday.

I have a friend who is paralyzed.
He wishes he wasn’t in that car when he was eight.
He wants to run, walk, ride a bike, and be normal again.

I have a friend that does drugs.
He wishes he never tried them.
He doesn’t know what to do.

I have a friend with cancer.
She wishes she didn’t have it.
She hopes someday she won’t be forced to take the drugs.

I have a friend who got an abortion.
She wishes she never had sex.
She thinks about her decision every time she looks at her boyfriend.

I have a friend who doesn’t have a dad.
She wishes her mom wasn’t raped.
She thanks her mom for not getting an abortion.

I have a friend that was suspended for drinking at a school event.
He wishes he wouldn’t have brought the alcohol.
He didn’t get into the college he wanted.

I have a friend who used to be abused.
She wishes her dad wasn’t an alcoholic.
She gets scared every time she sees him.

Each verse is a different friend of mine. It shows the difference between choices people make, and things they have no choice in.
