Family Lies
The lies start from a young age
The first one was “we’ll always be a family”
 And they continued from there.
Soon the lies were all that came from their mouths
And it became impossible to distinguish them from the truth
The next one was “everything will be okay”
At least this time, I knew it was a lie
So I hid, and deafened my ears to every sound that escaped them
The last lie I heard was the farthest from the truth
 “I’m sorry” -I didn’t believe it for a minute
So I followed with one of my own
 “I’m fine”, I told them.
