It's Not Me, It's You
I don't know why i try so hard,
I don't know why i even try at all.
Maybe it's an ego thing,
Like, look at all these people who like me...
Or maybe I was just hoping i could be a little more like everyone else.
Walking through the mall with our arms locked together,
Driving around singing along with the radio,
Or just spending an afternoon on the couch while i tell you everything about my life.
But i guess now i understand,
Why you don't like me or care about me, or love me.
Why every time you look at me you get so mad and filled with hatred. I always thought it was me,
Like i wasn't good enough for you.
But now i know the truth,
That it was never even in my control.
So thanks mom,
For teaching me that some times there's nothing i can do,
And how sometimes it's ok to admit it:
It's not me, it's you.
