The Night

The night lifts my soul
And my heart takes flight
The butterflies in my stomach
Seem to vanish in the moonlight.
I close my eyes
And breathe in the cool night air
As the wind
Rushes through my hair.
It washes over me
Taking my worries along for the ride
And I am carefree
At least until sunrise.
