Once a Friend Always a Friend
The first day if first grade,
the fear,
then the comfort of a new friend.
Eight years later and still friends,
it shows a bond no one can take away.
Remembering the summers at the pool,
all the inside jokes,
and the past.
Being able to sit around talking for hours,
after not seeing each other for weeks.
Feeling the comfort of a friend.
Seeing each other as old women ,
and still friends,
new friends coming but never leaving the old one.
Feeling the comfort of an old friend.
