bracelete
glistening in the sun,
jingling with every movement,
hanging on my wrist,
a present from him,
so far away,
yet so close to my heart.
it was great... at first.
beautiful, expensive, everything a girl wants.
now...
the constant remembrance of him, weighing me down,
pulling me under,
guilt from everyone who isn't him. restraining me, tying me down, suffocating me,
until I can't breathe,
I'm no longer me.
I'm branded.
