Spectrums

I wish to swim in spectrums of a multitude of hues
And see the world in gradients, of colors deep and new;
The endless tints and shades that are inherent in the light
Should cover o’er my soul, and fill my mind’s eye with delight;
But as I stare into the face of this infinity
And start to feel the saturation in the things I see,
I realize why our eyes are tuned to black and white and brown:
If we could see life’s vibrancy, in colors we would drown.
