People sing and people dance.
People try to find romance.
People stop and people wait.
They allow others to decide their fate.

But I, I am different.
I am myself.
I don't sit and watch
Like some book on a shelf.

People wonder, they're anxious too.
People ponder the answers the not once knew.
People can be selfish, insecure beings.
And unlike me, mostly have harsh feelings.

But I, I am different.
I am myself.
Compared to some others,
I feel small as an elf.

People may be one way,
But surely I am not.
I differ from them.
For I am myself.

Being at a summer camp where no one was afraid to be themselves inspired me to write this poem. I realized that everyone is his/her own individual
