Winter Trees
i am solitary and alone.
The click clak of my shoes echoing across an empty sky,
Like death riding atop a winter wind
As it weaves mellifluously between the weeping trees.
For now the trees and i understand Eachother
But the languid summer dawn
Plucks that fiery orb into a bright blue sky,
And they burst from their sepulchral confines
Their beauty mocking me.
i am alone once more.
i once broke free from the chains of confinement
But rose from the ashes
Only to find a more despotic ruler,
"For there is no more inexorable a jailer,
Than ones own heart."
