I wish
It might have been the way he talked
His words slurring together under his breath
If you really took the time to listen, you would hear him singing
It could have been the way he walked
Fast, trying not to be seen by the people who pointed and whispered comments to each other
I think it was the way he looked at us, he saw right past our $2.50 mascara and name brand jeans. He could read us like a picture book, but he never judged
I know it was the way he held his chin up when he was put down. Never sinking, even if the tide was high.
I wish I would have told him how much he ment to me, maybe I could have saved him from the pain we all thought he didn't feel
