First Impression.

I noticed her immediately upon entering the room.
Raven hair laid itself upon her shoulders as eyes of gold met my own from across the space between.
Standing up, I forced my feet, like soldiers, to march forward.
Everything in me shook violently as she matched my steps forward.
As I tried to regain my composure the dimming lights and arches of smoke set the scene.
The music in the air encircled me as she stood before me.
It was now or never.
My breath left my chest as she spoke first.
“I’m Gabrielle…” was all she said.
