Lost in the night
Lost without a reason,
I am trying to explain why,
I am feeling without a single word,
To describe my feelings at this second,
As night wraps its dark arms around my frail being,
I feel a wooziness drift over me,
Flowing like a river,
Unexplainably fast without haste,
Yet I cannot seem to feel any pain at all,
I feel as if I am floating within the darkness’ shadow,
As if the life has been sucked within itself,
I let out a cry,
As shrill and high as the stars,
I fall to the floor crumpled into a ball,
Trying to breathe again,
I look out the window at the sky,
The moonlight glitters and gleams,
Dancing across each pupil with delight,
As I become a creature of the night.
