Watermelon Craze

Eyes glued like Elmer's Glue,
Fixated sturdily like a statue.
A food celebrity in my world is on the table, sliced flawless.
A watermelon craze fills though my body.

Take a bite of my food celebrity,
Feel the rush of the taste buds, screaming for more.
The clank of the fork against teh bowl makes me look furiously for more.
Today, the watermelon craze is colossal.

Check the fridge for more,
I suddenly laugh to myself as I realized I've always liked watermelon ever since childhood.
With pain in my partially filled heart I look with dismay and turn around,
To my surprise I found my mother, laughing and telling me that was the last one.
I pout and said irritably, "So much for that watermelon craze".

I fall asleep with blissful dreams of me eating a thousand watermelons,
That is soon beginning to awaken me with reality.
12 o'clock, 1 o'clock, 2 o'clock,
The clock ticks softly as my mind is blocked with my craze.
Eyes flicker towards the window and towards the door.
Minds are infested and souls are famished.
I attempt to fall asleep with ambition as life finds me another day.
