Save Me

In this world so dark,
Light can only be found
With flint to create spark,
Dimming as it falls to the ground.

In this place so cold,
A flame cannot be made.
There’s barely any oxygen for it to hold;
It forms, but quickly fades.

Resilient, I am,
And so it may be.
I’ll stay here as long as I can,
Because I need you to save me.

I’ll only disappear
If I take my own life.
But, I’m starting to like it here;
There’s no need for this knife.

Honestly, I’d rather be with you.
Just come and get me,
Don’t resent me.
Please, please save me soon.

Sorry for everything I’ve done,
And for every feeling I’ve hurt.
Very wrong of me, it was, to run,
Even more with this blood-stained shirt.

More and more, my wait for you grows strong.
Every day... day and night is more and more long.

I wrote this after finishing my English II final exam. No feelings I had necessarily inspired this, I just wrote it.
