Here we go Yarmouth!
Here we go!
I shout.

The whistle blows,
as everyone cheers with excitement.

The ball whirling up and down the field,
as though a golden egg is being tossed,
from side to side,
it heads off the field
we receive a corner kick.

The foot strikes the ball as it hits a Cumberland girl,
the ball rolls toward her,
she shoots the ball,
as hard as she can,
entering the net.

They get the ball,
as we are still thrilled from our goal,
they get by as,
the ball sneaks by.

Now it’s our turn again.
The strike of the ball,
sends it curving down the field.
And in the net!

Again, coming down the side,
she shoots the ball from the corner,
it hits them and goes in!

We did it! We won!
It’s the feeling that a bird has
when it learns to fly.
