I Remember
I remember when I was happy.
I remember when I smiled.
I remember when I could sleep.
I remember when I was a child.
I remember better days,
When scars didn't mark my arms.
I remember it clearly,
But life has lost its charms.
I remember when I could function,
Without a worry or a fear.
I remember when I could sing,
Now the pitch won't ring clear.
I remember living life.
Now I'm living death.
I remember life without a pain.
But I breathed that last breath.
I can't seem to remember,
When it all began.
Point me in the right direction,
Because all alone I stand.
