Winter Wonderland

Saturday morning, fresh snowfall on the mountains,
I get up and get ready.
The mountain is calling my name.
I look out my window and
Kids are already building snowmen and igloos.
I grab a cup of coffee and head out.
My mind is focused on the slopes.
I’m finally here.
My destination
I swoop down and I hold my breath.
Face shot.
Everytime.
I was so excited I almost couldn’t breathe.
I take a break at the lodge.
Get a cup of hot cocoa and
I’m on my way again.
