Putting My Best Foot Forward

My family is a shoe
helping me step in the right direction.
My father is the sole
supporting me through rough patches.
My mother is the laces
binding the family together.
My younger sister Nicole is the heel
trying to adjust to constant pressure.
My youngest sister Christa is the tongue
restricted by the laces waiting to get out.
And I,
I am the colorful canvas, creative and craving the
excitement of each step
