Deep In Doubt

Every day, I find myself in a contemplative state

Imagining things of past, present and future date

I sit alone with thoughts of life

Moments of triumph, periods of strife

I see the world through open eyes

Yet I am clouded by things of shallow lies

The life we live and the things we do

Affects everyone and causes things to go askew

People ignore the people they hurt and promises they break

They don’t realize the world revolves around the decisions they make

I think these things, both the good and the bad

The joys in life conflict with the things that are sad

I want the world to wake and see what I have seen

The way others live is like a dream

I think these things and I have an urge to shout

Because the complexities of the world leave me deep in doubt!
