Let Your Colors Burst
How can I let him know?
How can I let my colors show?
Without all them people ha-ha-ing,
Without all them callin’ me sin!
I’m safe where I can’t hear ‘em,
In this damned dull closet,
Trapped here with me myself and two choices:
Lie to myself or be a sin and take on them voices.
I pluck the pedals off this here flower I got,
“I should…I should not…should I? or not?”
I will not…lie to myself any longer.
I’ll walk outta this closet and walk over yonder.
I’ll embrace him and let him know,
I’ll let my colors show,
Because now it’s my turn,
T o let my colors brightly burst.
