The Life and Times of an Average Schoolboy
The first day in, I sat at school and played
the journey of a trail to Oregon,
one of dreams realized that didn’t fade,
not recognizing that I’d not set upon
the dreams of my own until a teacher
reprimanded my behavior, saving not only
her lesson, but my dreams that beseeched her
to intrude on my little reverie. Lonely
before, my dreams now had some company
from my creations, which pulled along
my wagon, to the place where many
failed to reach; Oregon, a song
of beauty to my ears, a place where one may be
when dreaming, that, once a dream became my reality.
