Shut Out
People come as they please,
Closing the door behind them when they leave.
I forgive, but I don’t forget.
Play back the moment just so I won’t forget.
And until the pain goes away, I just won’t forgive.
I cry and hurt every single night
And when the day comes I hide it from the light.
I’m good at hiding my feelings.
Scared to face life because of all the hurt in me.
People never understand; they just pass judgment on me.
“Oh, she’s just the quiet girl,” who cares, really?
I decided to stop crying, simply just faking being happy!
No one, not anyone, is allowed to see through me.

At some point in our lives we feel like no one understands us and we just shut everyone out; including the ones that really care. I know I'm guilty of that.
