‘Maybe Richard will find another way. Just tell him, Alice. Tell him that his own Confessor never stopped loving him. And that if he can’t undo the magic, if he can’t return to her then, she’ll be waiting for him, in the Underworld. Forever.’
-Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell,
Legend of the Seeker

Whatever happened to Christmas?
It used to be so fun.
Whatever happened to laughter?
The wind might have taken it away,
but whatever happened to holidays
when we romped and played on the floor?
Whatever happened to Christmas?
I think it's at the door!

Whyever did I miss you?
You never left, I know.
Whyever did I mourn you?
I know you just won't go.
But still, I miss
the wind on my face,
the slippery ice,
the warm cocoa you made on cold winter nights.

What ever happened to memories?
Oh, that's right, they're here.

I wrote this in a matter of a few minutes, just a few weeks before Christmas. Last year's Christmas just wasn't as joyful as the ones of the past.
