You can make your heart explode with all of the words you’ve always kept in your throat
But they’ll never listen.
Nowadays the humans are so selfish that they pay no mind to your woes
To bring pity is to bring disdain upon yourself.
So you’ll shut your lips.
Cut your tongue out.
Bash yourself in the jaw.
Button your trap.
Let the cat get your tongue.
Close the trap door.
If you close off your speech,
You close off your mind.
If you close off your mind,
You close off your heart.
If you close off your heart,
You close out all that could ever hurt you,
All that ever will hurt you.
If you can’t close off your heart because you love love too much,
You’re a fool.
If you can’t close off your mind because you love thinking too much,
May as well just let your thoughts explode.
If you can’t close off your speech because you love speaking too much,
You’ve probably got nothing to really say.

Two years later, you return to what you thought was truth. You now know what the realistic version is:

Believe me,
Someone out there,
Wants to hear what you have to say.
When you’re on the verge of death,
When you’re crying out to the sky,
They’ll be there to wipe the tears,
To listen closely to every word you have to say.
Crying to the deaf has no affect
But preaching to the blind will have them open all ears
Signaling to the blind has no affect
But signaling the deaf will have them listening with both eyes.
You don’t need to plead endlessly anymore,
You don’t need to pray to a God that won’t listen
Or scream when there’s an ear listening
You can clear the phlegm from your lungs
You can make your voice explode with all the words you’ve kept in your heart
That person will always be there to listen
They’ll be one of the few unselfish who will pay mind to your woes
No pity but pure concern.
You’ll rip the needle from your lips.
Sew your tongue back on.
Let broken jaws heal.
Rip your thread.
Let the words return.
Open the trap door.
If you speak,
You open your mind.
If you open your mind,
You open your heart.
If you open your heart,
You open to everything that can hurt you
But won’t
If you close off your heart because you fear love too much,

If you close off your mind because you fear thinking too much,
