Sideshow Maestro
The fat lady has yet to surface, certainly
Stuck in the patterns of her ego.
Electricity’ll do the job,
And get her unstuck,
Stay in your seats,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Since it’s not over
Until the fat lady gets shocked.
What’s that? You call me cruel?
No sir, don’t be fooled.
There is no harm
Here, everything is
Good and safe
Just look up there,
Perched in the clouds
The fat lady’s mother
Watches, and hear
Her hearty laugh and you’ll see
This is all in good faith, and
Why yes, good sir, you can laugh too.
