Childhood Inoocence
Stuffed animals, Barbie’s and climbing trees,
My childhood consisted of these things.
As my brother and sister took the blame,
I was the little, innocent baby.
Life was good, imagination was king.
As I grew in age, wisdom and stature,
Barbie’s disappeared and then came hard work.
The days of peaceful reading in oak trees,
Of playing school with my stuffed animals,
And making forts of blankets and chairs
Faded away with a piece of my heart.
Oh, how I wish those days come back.
