and it's in this realization that I found out
the Book of Life is just a rough draft
for our days

we are actors, given a minute script
with prompts from others
as we improvise our lines

and I believe this is how we stray
from friends, activities
and from the hands of God

all the years of preaching
that Hell did not exist
I found out, it's alight below

for we find ways to change the scene
and wander from the story
displeasing God, the director

but that's what He's there for
to guide and to help
to get us back on track

all we need is to accept the criticism
and realize it's done with love
so that we achieve all He has dreamed
