Lunesea
you are the ocean and I am the moon
out here on the brightest of nights
I rise over you and you move under me
sway my heart with the tides
remember, my love, when we were young
and Mother Earth told us the tale
of the moon and the sea, forever apart
moving as one even still
we’ve had a thousand lives and a thousand tries
do you remember when my hair was white?
can you recall how many times we’ve died alone?
I am trapped in endless motion
you are held so far below
every night I return to seek
the depth, the rhythm, the strength
and I’ve found you again, your eyes of the deep
this life is one night in the course of time
give me your life and I shall give you mine
if your tides will hold me for one night longer
