Golden hues and shades surround us-
Sun meanders over my skin, confined to the frailest of prisms--
As we are both blanketed by the bullions of our inner most adoration.

Time has stopped, just for the both of us-
Quietly refraining from worldly interference--
Reality suspended.

His lips delicately hover over my cheek, a kiss-
notes of crimson flush into my face--
I close my eyes, reaping the moment
Our moment-
fixated in abstracted occurrence.

The author's comments:
I was inspired by the painting, The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. I chose to write a poem from the perspective of the woman, wanting to make the painting come to life.
