The Sea of Heart

You are a churning sea
And yet your heart still anchors to the bottom
I step into your unknown tides and you don’t know
The adoring brush of my ankles
How I fall into your world
Ever-changing, yet the same
A world I am not allowed to be in
Though we both wished so
I never let the hymn out into the surface
The sea could dry
If I sang for you
The damp would fade but be soaked forever
I must leave the sea
