The Truth
The truth didn't come out.
Rather, the lies fed it energy,
And it grew stronger and stronger
Until it could remain idle no longer
And it just...blew up.
Embedding shrapnel beneath my skin,
Piercing my lungs as I tried to breath in,
Leaving scars that screamed of sin,
Destroying any thought of “Soon, we'll be this...”
Abandoning the debris, the “What might have been.”
