The Feeling of Being in Love
Being in love is a teleport.
In an instant we transport from outrageous Las Vegas to enticing Disneyland,
Joyous, carefree, excited.
The next,
We dissipate into frightening St. Louis,
Scared, terrified, nervous.
We wonder if we will stay intact.
We do not know what to expect,
Or where we will end up.
But then,
We dissolve into calming Carlsbad,
Suddenly feeling carefree, bold,
And that nothing bad can happen.
Can’t wait to disappear,
And then reappear in love.
We end up on the beautiful and romantic Eiffel Tower,
Feeling on top of the world,
And wonder, “Why were we scared?”
