I never thought in a million years
This pain would last this long.
Like the older I get,
the more it hurts.
I don’t know what to do.
My heart and my life
Are still missing you.
I pray to God every night
And talk to Him about when your souls took flight
Into the sky
Separating us –
Low & high.

I never thought in a million years
This pain would last this long.
Like the older I get,
The more I hurt.
But as I grow,
The pain becomes easier not to show.
I miss your smiles
And your tight hugs
And your never changing love;
It was snug
Like a tight pair of jeans.

I never thought in a million years
This pain would last this long.
Like the older I get,
The more I hurt.
I cry silent tears
That mark the years
Of your absence.
You are gone
But not forgotten,
In my heart
You will forever be
Eternally apart of
Me.

My poem was written to express my feelings about love ones I lost, and how I am dealing with the pain within.
