In my mind I'm running miles.
In my mind I'm learning the tango.
In my mind I'm picking flowers.
In my mind I'm sweet and gorgeous.

In my mind I'm singing loud.
In my mind I'm sketching brilliantly.
In my mind I'm riding horses.
In my mind I'm just enchanting.

In my mind I'm catching dragon.
In my mind I'm watching sunsets.
In my mind I'm laughing brightly.
In my mind I'm swaying slowly.

But here's the catch, the little twist.
That's in my mind, but that's not real.
"Real" is sitting in class, simple and plain.
Simple brown hair, plain brown eyes.
Just a simple plain girl outside my mind.

I wrote this in English class one day, and I posted it just so... everyone who imagines themselves grander and more attractive and more talented and everything.. you're not alone. I'm a pretty confident person, and I'm overjoyed with my life, but I still feel this way sometimes. We all do.

i feel it most everyday, and i don't understand why others say what they do. i don't feel pretty like a lot of ppl say, unless I'm thinking deep in my mind about a completey different life. i love your poem. it connects to everyone
