Four little women
Four peas in a pod
Close are they
Different are they
Overcoming tragedies, flames, and goodbyes

Meg, eldest
Idolizes Mr. Brooke
Adoring etiquette,
And ostentatious objects

Jo, middle
A true tomboy
Artist of the mind
Stories, novels, poems

Amy, stuck in between
Acquainted with Laurie
Weaver of imagination

Beth, youngest
Poor, fragile Beth
Growing weaker
And weaker
Magnificent musician
Mr. Laurence’s long-lost granddaughter

Women enduring changes of the mind,
Holes in the heart,
Memories found again
Creating new ones
Four little women
Four pieces of a heart

The author's comments:
This piece is about the novel "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott, by far my favorite classic. My book report assignment was to make a video or write and submit it to Teen Ink. As soon as I started writing this just came to me and it turned out absolutely perfect.
