"ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country" J.F.K

in this modern day society
it seems we lost the true meaning of what irt is to be free
i can remeber a time
when we could stop the fighting and wars
when a man stood up with a dream
he truly knew what it ment to be free
in this modern day society
a soldier stares blankly at the tv
he heads to the back and picks up the phone
to be told that once again he had to leave home
as he he puts on his uniform
he picks up an old book
all riped and worn
he looks at the title as he laces up his boots
and puts away his suit
for written clearly on that book was his grandfathers name
and the way he died was not in shame
the title will remain in his mind
the title of the tale of an american soldier
