Favorite Quote:
We're all searching for purpose in a land of nothingness.

Thump. Thump. Thump.
Can you hear it?
I would remember that sound anywhere.
I can feel it in your voice as it wavers.
I can see it in your eyes as they stare into mine.
You could always look behind the truth with me.

Thump. Thump. Thump.
Can you see it?
The rows of orchids hide my truth.
The delicate lies you hide behind.
Tell the truth, nothing more.
Let me live in this sorrow.
Hoping for nothing, but a better tomorrow.

Thump. Thump. Thump.
Can you feel it?
The lies of despise, the reel of my heart
I keep waiting for it to start.
Say you’ll stay, you’ll look deeper.
Even if it means something bigger.

Thump. Thump. Thump.
Can you hear it?
The beat of my heart, the sound that never sleeps.
I’m a loss for words, love is just a word
The beat gives it a definition
All I hear is: thump, thump, thump.
Can you hear it?

I was inspired to write this poem after watching Breakfast at Tiffany's.
